Tidal replacement? Any news?

Plexamp is super boring without Tidal, for all of the obvious reasons, even with an insanely large library. Is there any update on a replacement? Plexamp is still the best music player I’ve ever used, but it’s gone from a 9/10 experience to 6/10 without the ability to mix in songs that aren’t in my library :frowning: I never knew Plexamp without Tidal integration, so it’s a huge loss to me. It’s been 3 months or so and we still have no news. I would hope that another streamer like Qobuz would be interested in a partnership? I wouldn’t even mind if my monthly Plex Pass went from $5 to $8 if that’s what it took.

If you have friends sharing their libraries with you, many discovery options exist.

We’ll see what the future brings!

I agree it is “super boring” because it “always works” and is “near perfect”. No other music player on the market comes close in smart function for the price. A music player created by music lovers. A match made in heaven, so to speak! I use a streaming service (Tidal) to dictate music download purchases. I’m a luddite, I like to pay artists for their musical gifts to the world. On average, I add two album purchases per month to my private collection. Qobuz, Bandcamp and 7Digital for FLAC purchases. I’ll take quality over quantity any day, music is intended to embrace, enjoy, and sink in, not consume like an all you can eat buffet.

Don’t get me wrong, it is still the best music player even without Tidal integration. But without Tidal, I’m missing:

  1. Improved DJ functions

  2. Improved Sonic Adventures

  3. Sonic Sage that I can listen to the entire output playlist

  4. The ability to listen to a song or album I don’t own on-demand.

  5. Any way to discover newly released music

  6. A custom script that I wrote to import text-based playlists (e.g. from ChatGPT or XMPlaylist), scan my library to locate the song, add it to the playlist, and if the song doesn’t exist in my library, find it on Tidal and add it to the playlist.

That’s all I meant. I want to see these features restored.
