I tested live TV time shifting this AM on iOS over LTE and it worked very well! No issues with pause and skip forward/back. It continues live viewing on the channel across TV shows seamlessly (as it should) and allows you to go back to the previous show by going back into your queue. I like the option on the bottom that lets you switch channels on the fly. Great work guys! Can’t wait to play with it some more and also see this on the AppleTV.
Just tried it and works great for me to. Nice work Plex!
Just need SAT IP or DVB-S2 support now so I can get some decent content.
@umiq88 As a temporary workaround you can use tvhProxy or minisatip (supports playlists; where you can create your own lineup.json) with your DVB-S tuners.
Doesn’t work here. Tried it with two differant generations of iPads. They all fail. Previously posted error messages and logs and got no reply.
Playing with Time Shifting on iOS here too and it’s working well. For a 1.0 entry, I am impressed thus far!
Yes tried it this morning and worked great for me too… I just wish i could go back in time before I started watching live for a show that was already recording.
That was fast,…
In my case I had to update my iOS App before the Time shifting feature update would show up but it works well.
A small point is that if you were viewing Live TV in a window on iOS you were able to pause and resume before this most recent update but this is now more or less full featured.
Running Plex Media Server Version 1.7.4.4017 on Synology DSM 6.1.2-15132. iOS Plex App version 4.13.
I’m guessing timeshift isn’t on Android tv yet. The server update to 1.7.4 mentions needing to be on Android version 6.2 for timeshift, but I’ve got both these versions and don’t see anything.

I’m out of town on business, so I won’t be able to play with it on Android TV until I get home, but I hope this isn’t the case. We watch Live TV on iOS from time-to-time, but primarily on Android TV. I assumed since Live TV support arrived for Android TV and iOS simultaneously, the same would be true for timeshift. You seem to indicate that the 6.2 app is available for Android TV in Google Play and that you’re running it?
Edit: Yes, the 1.7.4 Release Notes do indicate that timeshift should be supported by the 6.2 version of the Plex app for Android TV. When Live TV launched initially, I had to delete and re-install the Android TV app in order for the Live TV menu items (Program Guide and Scheduled Recordings) to appear, so I imagine I’ll follow the same procedure if timeshift isn’t available after an update/force stop Plex client/restart Plex client.
@fecaleagle exactly that’s what I thought and as the beta Android app is already on 6.2 it’s a little confusing. Hoping there’s another update in the next few days to add this
@“andrewpmoore@gmail.com”, sorry, I just made about 10 edits in sequence. I’ll let you know if I have any luck with it when I get home tomorrow.

This will be coming within the next couple of months. It needs some more work on the server side, so we decided to release what was ready now & not keep you all waiting
From reading above you can’t go back within a live show that’s recording, but can you just start watching a recording from the beginning that you’ve scheduled to record yet?
After a time of period, I am not able to seek to the beginning of the timeshift buffer. It jumps then back to the live position. Seeking back nearly to the beginning and then press the back button then works. Is this a bug?
Andrewpmoore, I don’t think you can yet… but I am wanting this feature as well. I would like to be able to set up a recording (Football). Come in like an hour late and start watching the game from the beginning and then skipping commercials (and half time) until I get to caught up to live.
@ASiDiE yes that’s my exact use-case

Try restarting the server. Happens to me regularly. Make the sure the server actually shuts down as it seems to hang in the background when live tv fails. Use task manager if it does not exit.

Works great on iOS. 6.1.1.656 is the latest available version in the Play Store for my Sony x900e…
I’m running iOS version 10.3.2 but I think there is an update or two that I missed. I’m using an iPad Air (v1) and an iPhone 6 Plus.

Are you running iOS app version 14.4? I updated the app yesterday. Updated the server to 1.7.5 an hour ago, and it’s working great from the get-go with an HDHomeRun Extend
