Timeline for Watch Together preview on other platforms

Is there a place that outlines what other platforms have development in progress for Watch Together? This is a fantastic feature; however, a big chunk of the Smart TV market is Samsung and LG, so until there is a preview for Tizen and WebOS respectively it’s difficult to preview with friends.

I understand “additional platforms are planned soon”. Just wondering if there is any high-level info outlining what other platforms are being developed and any ETA as to when a preview might be available. Would be more than happy to participate in a test group for Samsung/Tizen.

Thanks!

Plex doesn’t provide timelines.

Even just an understanding of what additional platforms are in the pipeline would be helpful.

Plex hopes to bring this feature to all supported clients.

Huh? What does this even mean? Isn’t any client that doesn’t support this feature “unsupported” as of now? “All supported clients will be supported” is rather tautological, and true at every point in the timeline including now lmfao

Sorry for the misuse of the word. Supported clients are clients that Plex is still actively providing updates for. i.e. Plex for Smart TVs (except newer LG and Samsung) is no longer supported. It is still available to be installed but these are not receiving anymore updates so they will not get this feature.

Oh I see. Thanks for clarifying. At this time is PMP still classified as “supported” then?

Support for PMP was suppose to end, but due to popular demand, it’s still alive. We are still providing fixes. However, I don’t know if it will receive any new features.
