Any plans to make this work in the web player?
From the related blog post:
Support for web and other platforms to follow soon.
Sooo… 2 month update on this. Any ETA for web support?
Would like to know as well. Any ETA on Plex Web / Plex for Windows and WebOS/Tizen apps?
I’ve searched to and fro and no ETA on Watch Together support for the Plex Web or desktop players (Mac/Win). Only advice I’ve seen is to subscribe (“Watch”) the release announcement threads.( I guess this is so you can receive lots of emails about releases that still don’t have Watch Together support? )
If there was single thing I could change about my relationship with Plex as a paying customer (Plex Pass subscriber) is that they would post a development roadmap and simply provide status updates once a month. Knowing some feature your waiting for is going to take another month or so is so less painful then praying it will just appear some day…
going to throw my voice into the crowd. i have a plex server and friends in every state, we are having to use KAST and skype or Discord.
when i have a plex server why do i need to use other software to watch with others?
c’mon guys, lets get this into alpha
Better off using https://synclounge.tv/ instead. Because “Support for web and other platforms to follow soon.” really means maybe we’ll feel like adding this valuable feature in a year or 2, but for now we’re going to pretend we’re a streaming service and give out free movies and TV shows so we can make money off ads.
Nothing wrong with that. Last time I checked I can’t watch any movies/shows from Netflix for free so a little revenue for plex is a good thing. It keeps the cost down(free!). Please don’t think assume the same devs that introduce the free movies/TV Shows are the same devs that are implementing fixes and other features.
I mean… Here’s a few

the big issue is that synclounge doesn’t work so great with the plex server in Seattle and a viewer in Miami.
at this point, if i got a bill from plex for 200$ to put a launch date (at all) on web/pc support, i would HAPPILY pay it.
Gonna hopefully draw some attention back to this. Any news? Sometimes the app just isn’t a viable option. Web player support would be a game-changer.
here you go
