I’ve been using the live TV option on my android tv (nvidia shield) and it’s been working fairly well and the beta android tv app.
Yesterday I upgraded to PMS 1.8. Love the timeshift ability, but I found that every few minutes the stream would just stop and freeze on a frame. Sometimes for a second or two, sometimes longer. If it was for longer I’d get the “weak signal” toast pop up. Once it starts again it plays fine (without skipping anything, so if it’s 1/2 way through a word when it stops, it’ll play and you’ll get the rest of the word). I’ve not seen these weak signal messages previously or the stopping. Anyone else seen that?
I was just coming here to respond to my post now that I have updated to 1.8 on my Nvidia shield. I am still getting this as well. Running IOS 4.15. What bothers me is I get it right away (about 1 second after it starts). If I then hit pause and play again, I can watch the live TV stream just fine. This leads me to believe that I don’t have a weak signal but plex is some how detecting I do. I don’t have an issue with any of my other apps and they all work as they should. I can also record shows just fine and play them back without any issues. I hope someone is looking into this issue.
Here are some logs when I get the issue. Started watching a show at 8:36 my time if that helps. I get the weak signal message and then if I click pause and play, it plays just fine.
I am running this: I am running a HDHomerun Connect/Nvidia shield 5.2/Latest Plex server (1.8.0.4109)/Latest IOS app (4.16). One thing to note… I am still on IOS 9.3.3.
Updated the IOS app today… still getting the weak signal issue.
I installed Plex client on a brand new install of IOS 10.3.3 on my Iphone 5s. When I watch live tv, I no longer get the weak signal message but I get a pause here and there but it keeps playing. However, on my iphone 6s running 9.3.3, I do get the weak single message.
Sounds like you are watching this on your nvidia shield. Just trying to narrow this down.
