IMDB scanning does not works at all for many other languages and this is sad. But here is TMDB which works fine.
The only problem is that default TMBD plugin takes IMDB ID and converts it to TMDB ID, than using Movie.getInfo returns metadata. TMDB API since 2.1 lacks locales support, so it is unusable for other languages. On the other side, Movie.search method works fine, support locales and so on (example).
Can anyone create primary movie plugin, which banally _search TMDB instead IMDB matching? =)

Within the next few days this should be rolled out properly across all methods.
Very good news, but this is anyway a big trouble for IMDB.bundle to recognize filenames with non-english characters only. Today filename should contain original movie name in English to be correctle recognized.

It would be great if we can add German movies to TMDB instead of adding local info files or battling with freebase AND adding covers to TMDB.
I’m bringing this topic back to life, as i’m trying to add a french locale for TMDB metadata agent but i’m a bit stuck. i’ve done a modificiation of it (awful hack) but i’d like to do it properly and have it integrated into Plex.
Has anyone worked on localizing the TMDB meta data agent ?

I’ve finally localized TheMovieDB metadata agent for french and paved the way to do it for other langages (see attached file). Can someone push this to Elan or another core developper so we can integrate it into the next release of Plex (the diff is only 20 lines long so it should be no big deal) ?
