Has anyone gotten Plex to work with T-Mobile home?
I put the server on the DMZ zone which should pass all traffic but for whatever reason it does not stay connected to the cloud. It says unavailable remotely or whatever it’s word it has.
Plex Amp works odly enough.
afaik, a Plex server is designed to exist on the same LAN subnet as the player, otherwise the connection is treated as WAN.
Because I’m not sure of your network configuration or what you’re trying to accomplish, I think we need more information to consider if you’re seeing a T-Mobile issue or a DMZ related issue.
T-Mobile Home uses CG-NAT addressing, which is incompatible with Plex remote access. It places the server in a double-NAT situation. Starlink and Verizon’s wireless home internet service also use CG-NAT.
Search the Internet for “Plex CG-NAT”, “CG-NAT port forward”, or similar terms. You’ll see some possible solutions, such as using a VPN provider that supports fixed IPv4 addresses and port forwarding.
I don’t know if or how well any of those solutions work. I have not seen any good information from people using them (it might be available, I just have not seen it).
