  • Detect IMDbID from .url files
  • No more DBUS warnings on headless machines

  • create .url files
  • PushOver notifications

Hi Rednoah. I've been looking at FileBot and want to setup the automatic 'watcher' script. Wondering if you could please explain how to install this, as I'm a bit of a noobie with this stuff.

I'm on a mac, have installed FileBot, but don't know how/where to add the groovy script. Do I have to use Transmission in order to activate it? Would like to just attach as a folder action on the completed download folder

Why not do this?

FileBot 3.61 is out! [Get it here!](http://www.filebot.net/#download)

This update brings lots of little tweaks for movie and episode detection and fixes various issues that have come up since the last release.

Changes:
* Many little tweaks for movie/series/episode matching and detection
* Improved filename validation as trailing spaces or dots cause issues on Windows
* Some tweaks for -non-strict behaviour
* Removed Sublight and Subscene because currently things are broken and can't be fixed without working APIs
* GUI does not allow override behaviour anymore as to avoid users inadvertently overriding files

Don't know if this is old or what, but I'm confused as to why this costs $3 in the Ubuntu Software Center but is free for the other platforms. Also, since I'm running Ubuntu Server, is there a way to download it via apt-get?

+1 vote for FileBot - it's a freaking epic little program.

Rednoah is also really active on the FileBot forums and quick to fix any issues encountered. :-)

As I fail to understand the concept of a 'Holiday', I've also written a few scripts to extend FileBot's functionality in Windows - they can be found on the FileBot forums:

Advanced Windows Context Menus: http://www.filebot.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1222

Powerful Custom Naming Schemes: http://www.filebot.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1205

FileBot Auto Jar Updater: http://www.filebot.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1225

Hopefully they come in handy for a few people :-)

Edit: @mAAdhaTTah - I think that's mostly as an option for people who want to help support the development. I think that there were/are plans to add some extra features for the paid/donation variants, but you can always download it for free (for multiple platforms) from the FileBot home page. Also, once it's installed, all you ever really need to update is FileBot.jar, which is available straight from SourceForge.

Dude! Thanks for this info!

Awesome Program! i am using it for all my automation for sick/couch/headphones +1 all the way great work!

Great work thanks for your amazing app :)

Hey Rednoah, thanks for an amazing app. I'm on Mac OS X Maverick. On version 4 the app is not starting- when I double click the app it fails to start. I get this in console:

3/14/14 11:40:33.259 PM Finder[196]: 8837325: Attempting to SIGCONT to pid #559 failed, with errno=#3, or the process failed to actually start

Any solution to this? I have had previous versions work.

Just a quick question, I have a Synology NAS (214play), as far as I can't tell there isn't a sinology version so i was running FileBot on my Mac.

Is there anyway to set up a routine that will run everynight? I want it to scan all my movies/tvshows located in the NAS and renamed them if needed!

Thank you!

Yes. But you'll need to call filebot from cmdline.

I'm running FileBot on my DS213j just fine. You just need to get Java working, then FileBot will work as well. There's some optional features like extract and mediainfo that may not work if it's an ARM or PPC device.

**FileBot 4.1 is out!** [Get it here!](http://www.filebot.net/#download)

This new major release comes with massive improvements in all the core functionalities and lots of bug fixes. It's smarter, faster, superior in every aspect and generally more streamlined to get things done fast and exactly the way you want.

**Features:**
* Fix Windows/Linux/Samba permission issues
* New Mac OS X app bundle (now requires Oracle Java 8)
* Support xattr metadata on Mac OS X
* Faster FileBot / Groovy Script Engine
* Improved series / movie detection for various special cases
* Fix various OpenSubtitles Upload/Download issues
* Improved detection of existing subtitles in -get-missing-subtitles
* Support for Java 8
* Improved steps for {vf}
* New binding {age} for age in days
* New binding {label} which is only available if --def ut_label has been set (see amc usage)
* PushBullet supported (see amc usage)

**Changes:**
* Drop support for Java 6 (i.e. Apple Java 6 is no longer supported)
* Strict OpenSubtitles search is limited to hash/tag lookup now
* Enable xattr support by default for all packages
* New xattr structure and namespace
* Update to Groovy 2.3.2

The Pushbullet notification function is really sweet, but i received three notifications with only one download (might be because filebot treated the file and also downloaded 2 subtitles from opensubtitles). Am I doing something wrong?

Also, is there a way to change the name of the notification in filebot?

I downloaded the latest version and it no longer works on OS X 10.6.8. Has support for Snow Leopard been dropped?
