I’ve got a very large and messy music library. What utilities do you use to organize the actual files?
Hmm well for me, Foobar 2000 w/ Musicbrainz, Discogs and Freedb add-ins are the primary tools for tagging. Then using the Musicbrainz site to re-tag CDs so they have good metadata that can be scanned thus Plex makes sense of it all. Good news: All these tools are free.
One last comment, I prefer to find the CD in Musicbrainz myself. Many times searching (hard and long) is the only way to find the CD. Further things like an opera really needs consistent metadata otherwise you end up with say 14 albums all over yopur collection instead of it all being under one album. Really helps when you want to sync your music too. Good luck.
