I was wondering what tools i can use (unix or linux) to test the encoding speed of more encode instances, i would like to see for how many encode instances my cpu can take.
or can we get a small guide of how to execute plex new trancoder manualy with live status (frames/seconds), now this would be better. But in this case we must know what are the transcoder settings used when having using "hurt my cpu" and other encode settings, or can we get this from the logs?
I was just doing this the other day (verifying whether my low-power NAS could reliably handle a single 720p transcode and setting up scripts to auto-pause background processes when a session was in progress).

I guess you could open up several instances of plex/web and check the logged speed as you add streams.

Thanks, that was exactly what i was looking for, unfortunettly my i5 does not handle more than 2 1080p simultaneous encodes, i was hopping to see at least 4 :(
