Top Users not showing 'plays' for users

Player Version#: Web 4.96.3?

If you look at the attached .png file you will see that ‘Guest Account’ is showing 80 min of TV and 13 min of movies but the # of plays remains at 0.

How can i fix that, because you can see the 2 other accounts appear to be logging without issue.

Im betting that you need to finish something in order to consider it “played”. Just watching part of an episode or movie wont count as a “play”

That is what I have wondered over time @dbirch but then it would show me that the account has watched 20 minutes of a 30 minute TV show, maybe it has to get beyond a certain percentage? @BigWheel , why is it that I show time recorded for watching but I cannot see what it is that was watched?

The guest account is one that I setup and use to share with friends, so I do have 100% access if we need/want to try and reproduce anything.

I think the mark of watched happens at 90% so for a 30 minute video that is ~27 minutes in.

Two things come to mind initially:

  1. Could the account(s) not showing play counts have the Use External Player advanced option set ? This will certainly disable dashboard reporting so definitely check this.
  2. Is the Music Library using the Plex Music scanner and agent and is the artists/albums/tracks actually matched or are they unmatched ? Not sure if this would effect dashboard reporting but it might.
