Track titles not showing up in Plexamp (and Sonos) - works fine in Plex

On some albums the track title does not show up in Plexamp app (and I also have the same issue in the Sonos app). There are no issues if I use the Plex app.

Examples:

Context:

  • Plex server on QNAP version 1.32.7.7484
  • Plexamp and Plex on IOS (latest versions)
  • Files are in FLAC (but I have other FLAC files that works fine)

the sort title is set, but the title is blank, usually indicates bad tags and preferring local metadata. if you inspect the track in the web app you’ll see

Ah - right. Most attributes seems empty when I try to edit the track in the web app. So then I guess i need to just find a way populate them correctly. Tnx.

You can use tagging software like MusicBrainz Picard, or alternatively, disable the “prefer local metadata” preference on the server like elan mentioned. That setting is generally only recommended if you have pristine tags in your files.
