I just opened up a TV show to see the trailer that got me hooked only to find that the trailers button wasn’t available. Thinking that I probably assumed it would be there for TV shows as well as movies, I opened up another TV show and the trailer button is present.
I ended up watching the trailer on YouTube but am now wondering why some TV shows have trailers directly supported in Plex and others don’t. I’m also thinking if I can download the trailer and put it in an Extras folder.
You can add local trailers to a show. Use a Trailers subfolder in the show’s directory OR add the file directly into the show’s directory and „-trailer“ as a suffix to the file name.
Hey, thanks for this. You’re a ninja for a reason.
I did this and it worked. I’m typing out a reply to say that I had to force Plex to “Refresh all Metadata” related to Star Trek Discovery before the extras showed up. So anyone doing this will either have to wait for normal maintenance to refresh the metadata or they’ll have to force it to happen if they want immediate results.
EDIT
Also, I magically got a “behind the scenes” featurette when I did that without having added one. Perhaps all I had to do was refresh metadata.
Star Trek Discovery Trailer and next to it a Behind the Scenes featurette.
