Trailers is Unavailable, Try again Later

I get the message above when I try to access my movies under the “By Folders” tab of my PlexConnect on ATV3.

The movies play if I select them from the “All Movies, Directors and Actors”. tabs

I have another Movie Library that works just fine using the “By Folders” tab.

Any ideas why this is happening only on the Movies-“By Folder” tab?

Thanks, as always.

So… one Movies/By Folder is working, while the second is not?
You might want to try to repair/update your library. Or send logs in order to have us investigate…

So, would you be able to tell me here or PM the steps to get the log(s) needed?

I upgraded from one NAS to another, same Mfg.,

Everything works great except for the message above.

All Movies play if selected from the “All Movies” or other tabs, except the “By Folders”

Thanks

To get a log:

stop PlexConnect then edit Settings.cfg and set the loglevel = High

start PlexConnect then navigate to your issue then upload your PlexConnect.log to here if desired or consult @baa for further assistance

Thank you, I’ll try to get to that later today.

I did as asked, the log is very, very long do I just copy and then paste the log here? When I open Plex on my ATV in “High” it takes much longer for the media to show up, is this normal?

Upload it to some free file hosting site then paste the link here.

thank you, I’ll look into that and post again.

Recap:

When I start my Plex on ATV3 – Trailers opens select Library, select Movies.default to All Movies and thumbnails appear, click on movie and it opens & plays

If i select Movies and then select By Folder thumbnails appear when I select anyone I get this message:

“Trailers is unavailable. Try again later”

If I select, from Library any of the other choices they work as expected, either by All Movies or By Folder.

This started after I upgraded from ReadyNAS RN102 to ReadyNAS RN202, same HDD’s and firmware

I’ve deleted the Movies Library and created it again, same result.

Below are two links to my PlexConnect Logs

  1. LogLevel =Normal
  2. LogLevel=High

I hope this makes sense

  1. shows basically nothing - but the fact that your PlexConnect is somewhat old. Based on the version string I would estimate between 6month and 1 year… Are you able to update to the latest sources?
  2. In the generated aTV-XML (grid mode) at the bottom of the file, I can’t see anything particularly wrong. Nothing obvious at least. But: With that login option it takes about 1:30min to generate the file. I am not sure if aTV is waiting that long… Just for a test: Set loglevel=Off, this will generate the response much faster, though we wouldn’t know what’s going on. Again, for a test it will be fine, for debugging issues we need data.

The PlexConnect is what’s on the NAS correct?

If not where do I find it?

Thanks

PlexConnect - the collection of Python scripts, JS files, XML templates. If you are running it on your NAS, then yes, it’s the one on your NAS.
Current sources - as always - at https://github.com/iBaa

I think I have updated my PlexConnect on my Desktop that my NAS runs through.

I’m still having the same issue with the “By Folders” returning Trailers is Unavailable…"

Here are links to my PlexConnect Logs:

LogLevel=Off

LogLevel=Normal

LogLevel=High

I can watch my Movies but I would like to have Plex working correctly.

Any additional help you are willing to provide will be greatly appreciated.

PlexConnect version doesn’t look like “updated” - it’s really a quite old one, unable to deal with PMS encryption requirements (if enforced).

K, I’ll look into that, Thanks

If you don’t mind, could you tell me how you know that PlexConnect did not
update to 2.7.11.

The first 4 lines of the ConnectLog have the 2.7.11 info.

I’m just trying to understand / learn about this.

Thank you.

“2.7.11” is the Python version, the interpreter that is running the scripts.

07:10:48 PlexConnect: Version: 0.5-dev

This line is the actual “version information” of PlexConnect. While overall this is the latest instance, about 10month ago (ok, just saying a number here), we added a date to that string. Not sure if I always remember updating it, but the current version shows adds -101215, as in last December.

Got it. I’ll look into getting the a newer Version of PlexConnect
installed.

Thank you so much for your help, hopefully I will be smart enough to update
everything and not have to pester you anymore.

Update to Update:

I took a break from this for a bit and decided to try again. Tonight I jumped back into it and updated my PlexConnect, successfully to my surprise, and everything is working as it should.

Thank you for all of your time and knowledge.
