I have 2 ATV3's setup and working fine with the latest software (7.something) They both work fine for playing back content. I have also been able to edit the cfg file on the server machine for certain settings to remain persistent. The issue I am having right now is I get the error Trailers is Unavailable error if I try to go into the TV Show Options or any of the other Options menus from the ATV. I am trying to change the setting to not hide the synopsis of my TV shows but I was not able to find this setting in the cfg file but found online that it had to be done within the TV Show Options. I am not sure why it isn't working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Log file?
Also all settings in ATVsetting.cfg are controlled from the menu’s is it possible you have made a change in the file that is causing errors? If you rename the file and let Plexconnect create a new one can you access this option?
I renamed the existing cfg file and tried again with the new system generated cfg with the same result. I am attaching the Plexconnect.log file I see in the Plexconnect folder. Let me know if this is not the correct one. Thanks for the extremely quick response.
Also, I did quit and re-launch Plexconnect after renaming the cfg file.
Your version of Plexconnect is quite old. Maybe try updating and see if the issue is resolved
So I updated Plexconnect to the latest version and I am now able to access the other menu items to adjust settings. I now have a different issue. On my ATV3's, I can start a movie playing and it will play about 30 seconds and then stops and jumps all the way back to the main screen of the ATV. I have rebooted the ATV's as well as the machine I have Plex/Plexconnect running on and it is still happening. I was watching the Plexconnect command line when earlier when it happened and nothing new is showing up in the window to indicate an issue. I just enabled logging on Plex and will try watching a movie again. I am not sure where the log gets stored/how to view it but I will have a look. Any ideas?
I did attach a new Plexconnect log file. Also, I tried watching a movie using the Plex app on a Roku that I use and it is working fine so the issue is only with the ATV's/Plexconnect.
Thanks,
Dominic
Media info for the file might help here
I am having the issue with all files. I use MakeMKV to rip my movies using default settings. I haven’t had this problem until I upgraded Plexconnect to the latest version. I did have the same issue a few months ago but rebooting the Plexconnect machine resolved the issue and this time, rebooting has no effect.
Thanks,
Dominic
Any more help with this? It is continuing to happen and I am at a loss. I am only having this specific issue with the ATV's so I know it is Plexconnect related but the log files don't seem to contain anything useful, at least not to me but I am still a novice with Plexconnect and Plex in general.
Thanks,
Dominic
So I have found that some of my video files are playing fine. It seems like I am having the issue with 1080p movies most notably. I can't find any pattern to it though. The log files I attached above might give someone with more knowledge than me some insight to help me get this issue resolved. I was not having this issue until I updated to the latest Plexconnect version to correct the original issue I asked about above.
Thanks,
Dominic
So I reverted to the old version of Plexconnect I was having the original issue of not being able to access the movie options through the AppleTV and my video files play fine now. But now the original issue is back. I am at a loss. I am to the point where I don't mind paying someone a small fee to get this resolved for me because I would like all functions to work normally.
Thanks,
Dominic
No one has any ideas with this? Someone else has to be having the same issue at least.
Thanks,
Dominic
Does it only happen with 1080P files? Does it act like this?
