"Trailers is unavailable. Try.... "

Before I get carted off can someone please tell me why, despite all my sweat and labour, when running PlexConnect I just keep getting " Trailers is unavailable when starting the Trailers app on my ATV 3 ( 6.0.1 ). I am running PMS  0.9.8.6.175-88ffbb2 on my server. I have added all the certificates and set the DNS on the ATV to the location of PlexConnect. What have I missed? Please someone charitible give me a clue.

That’s a very old version of plex connect and it does not have support for the certificate.

I can tell by the line about enter to shutdown.

Where did you get this copy?

Try downloading the latest from https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect

drewbie. I somehow let myself be led here: https://shopper.mycommerce.com/checkout/cart/view. So, I gather I am a victim of a scam.

I will retry with the link you sent me and see how it goes. Thanks for now.

That sounds like the plexconnect.org site that is a scam.

Yes try the github link that’s the only place To get trusted source.

This is how things look now with the version from https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect . Still getting " Trailers is unavailable... . "

Feeling pretty foolish here after being scammed. I have filed a complaint with PayPals resolution center. I will gladly make a donation once I get this working... . Cheers :-)

Please take a look at the “read before posting sticky” and provide the info requested there and we will get you up and running.

Well, I started off again with a clean slate and lo and behold..., IT WORKS! What a jewel of a service. Life just looked brighter :-)

Donation forthcoming :-)

Thank you all!

Great news, just make sure you tell Paypal that you were sold pirated illegal software (they are selling stuff that was not licensed at the time for any reselling).

By the way... I would be interested in WHAT they are actually "sell". Would you be able  share "their" product?

Hi - I think I followed the instructions and guides correctly but I get the same "Trailers are unavaiable. Try again later." when I start the trailers to get into Plex. I've been able to get this to work before the cert issue.  Anyhow, I'm running Plex Media Server v 0.9.8.1.46 on my mini (192.168.1.101) and my AppleTV is running v 5.3 (6105) has the address 192.168.1.120.  Attached below is the excerpt from the log. Any advice or see where I went wrong?

Thanks.

Thanks - I have tried to start over and did the instructions again. As I look at my log, I see that I am not getting PlexGDM lines, but I do know that PMS is running, it's set to open at login. I can also access myplex over the web as well.  here's another look at the log:

With the latest version, you won't get PlexGDM lines at startup any more. The initialization was completely redone, PlexGDM is triggered when you actually enter Plex/PlexConnect/Trailers on your aTV.

So far everything is fine, but then your aTV doesn't like the application.js served. Most probably your certificate is not installed properly...

Thanks for the assist Baa (and the work).  I did it again, and this time paid specific attention to the cert. The cert was added to the aTV fine, "trailers.apple.com", status "unsigned", payload "certificate_description_singluar_format".  I am adding the cert via these instructions as I do not have a micro USB cable (http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/82597-how-to-transfer-trailerscer-using-plexconnect-no-usb/).

On the bright side, I did get further down in the log after trying to access Trailers (but still the same end result).  Here's the log below.  Thanks again all.

Same as above - application.js doesn't seem to be accepted.

Did you check our WIKI? Is it the same than in the thread you linked?

Hi - I did indeed use your wiki: https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/wiki/Install-Guide (Mac version)

I tried again but same result.  Here's the log and the settings.cfg file
