  • Detail on the media file if it is an issue related to playing a media file (in order to get the necessary information on a particular media file go into the Plex web interface, select the video file, when it brings up the page for the media file click on the "i" information button on the left hand side, it will then bring up a "media info" box, click on the "View XML" button, it will then open a browser window with the relevant information, copy this to http://www.pastebin.com and use the pastebin link to post the details; posting the information directly in the forum may mess up the formatting and generally takes up a lot of space):

  • A detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better):

  • My ATV3 gives a message 'trailers not available, try again later'. The message shows immediately.

Somehow I can't attach file, so this is the contents of the log...

looks like a cert issue?!

Thanks BAA, How can I check this?

There is really no good way to check those. Just more questions...

How did you create your certs?

How did you install the cert on your aTV?

Was this the first time you installed certs? Or did you have already some installed? Did you remove the old ones first?

I created the certs as stated here: https://langui.sh/2013/08/27/appletv-ssl-plexconnect/

I installed it with the IPhone configuration utility

It was my first install...

Saw a troubleshoot idea to set a complete path instead of a relative. Did not work.

all you need is the Youtube app anyway

What you mean 2Nuh?

Installing certs using ethernet didn't work?

Do you have a firewall running, blocking ports 80/443? Can you check with another device, browse to :80, then :443. What does it show?

Baa, just found your page on installing the cert to appletv via ethernet... as of http://trailers.apple.com/trailers.cer

Would this match to the generated cert by the windows SSL?

When i try to connect to 192.168.1.7:80 or :443 firefox states 'cant connect', chrome 'not available'

My NAS is on 8080, and that's found OK... does this give a clue?

Portcheck state ports are closed... they are on my QNAP NAS 419P+ any idea on how/where to open them?

Router is a cisco EPC 3925

>>certs

It shouldn't matter where those certs were created - as long as .pem and .key match.

>>"can't connect"

Well, that's something. With PlexConnect running correctly, you should get a "403 - not serving this client".

>>open ports on QNAP

No idea - check other threads. There are a couple dealing with NASs, also some particular for QNAP.

Searching, thanks... can't find it yet though... they all seem to claim ports already open and it's a router problem?

Not sure if you would find these helpful:

https://forums.plex.tv/topic/70373-plexconnect-running-on-a-qnap-nas/

https://gist.github.com/tommeier/6255771

Are you able to telnet to the port?

Also if you recreate the certs at any point you must delete them from the ATV, it does not work just overwriting them!

Can't telnet to the port... so the issue seems to be the ports on my QNAP are closed. I can't find anywhere how to open them though...

Anybody knows a solution???

A two second google found the following: http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=33001

Thanks f00b4r...

I have done the netstat -a

ports 80 and 443 are not listed.

The first part of the thread states that you don't have to open them, but a daemon should have opened them?

Now I can open a telnet connection to them!

But still it says:

10:15:33 DNSServer: ***intercept request

10:15:33 DNSServer: -> DNS response: 192.168.1.7

And the AppleTV stats 'trailers not available"...

Any new suggestions? Feel like walking in circles.
