Trancoded videos playing at very fast speeds. Changing to original quality fixes

This is happening on multiple clients (Laptop, phones, FireTV, ROKU and ShieldTV). Video starts fine and then at some point will stutter and then start playing very quickly. Changing playback settings Quality to “Play Original Quality” fixes the issue if I’m in a location that can handle the original quality.

This is a machine that has been running Plex for years and I’ve made no changes. It just started doing it about a month ago.

I have the same issue. Windows server and watching on a Chromecast. Thanks for the tip of playing original quality !

I still haven’t found a good fix other than the work around. Really frustrating. Thinking about reinstalling but it’s such a pain.
