Trancoding buffer fills, then freezes, the picks back up

Server Version#: Version 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: Version 4.30.2

Watching a movie, not a huge bitrate or anything. Transcode buffer fills up and freezes.

Fedora 32. Ryzen 7 3700x, RTX 2070 with HW transcoding on. /dev/shm for transcode directory (32gb available) Everything else is 1TB nvme ssd. (AKA, resources should be fine for this one stream haha)

I’m the only one playing anything right now so it is barely even putting a load on the server.

I rebooted, no love.

Plex Media Server Logs_2020-06-23_10-11-00.zip (5.2 MB)

So far, I’ve not seen it on Roku

I was able to confirm that app.plex.tv does not affect this, so it seems isolated to the bundled web player

If you’ve confirmed it’s the bundled version but not present in the hosted (app.plex.tv) version then you will be pleased to know the app.plex.tv version periodically replaces the bundled version.

AFAIK, such an update is coming soon. It might be in testing now.

Hey @ChuckPa.

Yup, I know the hosted tends to run ahead due to it’s release cycle versus the sever.

I am not certain if this was an edge case though.

Do you see anything odd in the logs? If not, we can chalk it up as a “wait for next release”

My main concern was this is a rebuild, new gear and I want to ensure there isn’t a glaring issue.

Nothing in the server logs and, even if you supplied player logs, I wouldn’t be able to do much with them. (not a Javascript guy)
