I upgraded my server to support 4k transcode. But i’m frustrated that the system isn’t able to. I’m getting error message “The system isn’t powerfull enough”
CPU usages hardly goes above 30%
any advise?

What type of network do you have? What Plex client?
Network is fine. Using Ubiquiti hardware with edgerouter, UniFi switch and nanoHD ap. WAN is 300/300.
Clients connecting can be andriod, iOS, Plex media player and web browser.
All have the same issues with 4K content. It can play fine the first 5 mins or so with direct play , then its starts transcoding the buffer icon shows up.
you don’t list a gpu, are using one ? is hardware acceleration enabled in the server settings ?
why are you transcoding in the first place? the main point of 4k is to have the best quality and transcoding obviously lowers quality

All of those devices have 4K displays?
That usually means there is something wrong with the file that the client couldn’t play so it told PMS to transcode the file. If things freeze up here, then that could mean the transcoder couldn’t read the file properly either to perform the conversion. If you can recreate the issue and provide the logs from the app and PMS, we can see what is going on.
