According to the Release Notes of OpenPHT 1.6.0, there is a new option called “Transcode audio to AC3 for use with optical out”. Is it possible, that this option is only available when there is a direct optical out connection on the HTPC? I couldn’t find the option yet in the Audio Settings.
I’m currently using a “HDMI -> HDMI Splitter -> Toslink -> A/V” solution, because my HTPC doesn’t have a Optical Out Port . Unfortunately my A/V Receiver only supports AC3.
If this is the case, is it possible to make this option available regardless of a lacking Optical Audio Port?
Last question, is the transcoding to AC3 done by the OpenPHT Client or by the Plex Media Server?
