I’ve read a lot of posts here about this problem, but I still haven’t found a solution. I ripped a Blu-Ray of Run Lola Run and added it to Plex but it will not play. After a timeout, I get a message saying Transcode Failed. I look into the log and see the reason, “Not enough space.” Enough space where? I have 100TB of storage and 50% of that is free. This movie has German and English audio and subtitles. I’ve tried ripping with no subtitles. I want the German language version, but every configuration I’ve tried so far does not solve this problem. Any suggestions?
Plex Media Server version?
Plex Media Server platform?
Please attach debug level server logs that capture the problem.

Transcoder Statistics:
Thanks for the info.
Which Plex client are you using?
What is the audio format (TrueHD, DTS, etc)?
Does the problem appear immediately or take a few minutes to appear?
It is not possible to tell from the log snippet, but that looks like the TrueHD transcoding bug that was supposed to be fixed in 1.30.1.6562.
Please upload the entire zip file of server logs. Hopefully they captured when playback started and contain additional details.
Apple TV, latest version. I’ve tried two different ones.
It takes about 1-2 minutes before the error message appears.
The server log ZIP file is too big to upload. How can I fix that?
Plex Web Version 4.87.2.
Not sure why you’re getting the “too large” message. The zip file should easily fit under the forum limit.
Anyway, upload just the Plex Media Server.log to Plex Media Server.5.log files (they wrap from .log to .1, .2, etc). They should have the necessary information.
You can just drag the files into the message window. They will attach at the cursor location.
Plex Media Server.log (3.7 MB)
I’m using DVDFab. I’m trying different video codecs to see if I can find one that will play on Plex.
Need all the Plex Media Server.log files, please. That one does not have any playback information (no error messages).
If you’re having difficulties uploading the files (maybe limits on new accounts?), you can upload them to dropbox, etc, then post a download link.

I hope this works:
Thanks for the files. The beginning of playback had already rolled off the end. However, they show a problem when transcoding TrueHD audio.
Question: Does this happen with just this one file or with any file when playing TrueHD audio?
Suggestion: Delete the codecs. This will force Plex to re-download them.
- In Synology Package Center, stop Plex Media Server.
- In Synology File Station, navigate to the Codecs folder in the Plex Data Folder
/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Codecs - Do not delete
.device-id.
Delete all other contents in the Codecs folder. - Start Plex Media Server
Now play a file with TrueHD audio and see what happens.
Plex Media Server will re-download the codecs from plex.tv.
If the problem still exists, please pull & upload the server log files.
Did all this. Two new codec files showed up. Still fails to transcode with the same error. Here are the updated server logs.
I got the movie working exactly the way I wanted. I ripped it again using the MP4-Theater mode instead of MKV. I only picked the German HD audio and set Subtitles to None. Once I got it playing, I used the Plex option to add English subtitles. It’s running perfectly now! Thanks for your assist.
