Server Version#: 1.40.2.8395
Player Version#: 4.128.1
Hi,
I have a Synology DS423+, its the same CPU as a synology ds920+, so perfectly compatible with transcoding, but every movie that tarnscodes gives issue
My media files are located on a storage pool, 5 TB left there, plex is installed on the NVME storage pool, 900 GB left there, so plenty enough data
but when i look in the logs, i see this:
Error while decoding stream #0:1: No space left on device
This happens on plex chrome player, i also have Google TV HDâs, not possible to use transcode there either âŠ? Whats wrong?
here are some log files
Plex Media Server.log (5.1 KB)
Plex Transcoder Statistics.log (19.0 KB)
I can find a lot of threads on this issue, but they were all fixed in release 1.32 or something , iâm using 1.40 ?
No space left is an issue caused by many folders?
Youâre not out of space, but that is how it appears in log files.
yeah, but i dont have that much folders, if i do a properties of all my media folder librarys in total i have 1140 folders
thats not much at all ?
its 634 actually, i dont have the music libary in plex active
Then something else happening. That was the first thing to check.
On mobile, so hard to read log files. Will look at them later today.
ok, perfect, thnx in advance already!
Would it be possible to get the DEBUG (not just info/error) Logs?
Specifically, I request:
- Enable DEBUG logging, click SAVE when done. (Do not enable VERBOSE)
- Restart PMS
- Wait 3 minutes
- Now attempt to play (recreate error)
- Download server logs ZIP file
- Attach entire ZIP file
Ok, will do that tomorrow
Hi, here are the debug logs as requested:
Plex Media Server Logs_2024-05-07_07-36-26.zip (1.7 MB)
Here is another log , from another movie, it starts playing with direct play on Google TV, then i change it to transcoding, but it keeps transcoding, never startsâŠ
Plex Media Server Logs_2024-05-07_07-47-26.zip (1.4 MB)
Hey Guys, got a chance to look at the debug files?
From what I can see in your logs,
Possibility 1:
Volume 2 is full
Check the Transcoder temp (under PlexMediaServer).
What does DSM show for free space?
Possibility 2
Secondary possibility â The number of watched folders is full and youâre trying to transcode Dolby audio from a movie/tv episode
(What the error also implies)
May 07, 2024 07:36:16.906 [140018043038520] ERROR - [Req#18876/Transcode/1c135b46a25befbe-com-plexapp-android/6468c92e-fc53-462e-b471-af6786250b0b] Error while decoding stream #0:1: No space left on device
"No space left on device is VERY common when loading directories.
Volume 2 is the NVME drive, 824 GB free, so thats not the case
Volume 1 is where the media is, 5.2 TB free
SO thats the space on the chromecast device itself?
it happens with all my devices, i just checked one Google TV device, i dont use that much apps on it, and also 2.5 GB free there
Check where youâve specified the Transcoder Temp
(Settings - Server - Transcoder - Show Advanced)
That space is reporting full.
Is this a btrfs filesystem with a quota on the shared folder ?
If you implemented quotas on the Synology, the PlexMediaServer shared folder itself might be âfullâ as far as that quota is concerned.
The ChromeCast is the player⊠Itâs not reporting the error⊠PMS is.
Hmm, no quotasâŠ
But indeed, I just created an volume on that nvme drive, itâs was ment to install apps on it to make it faster⊠I donât think I created a shared folder on it, that might be it? I check it later when Iâm home
For test , created a new shared folder âtmpâ, i changed it, i saw Plex creating an âTranscodeâ folder, so the setting is correct⊠But still same error âno space leftââŠ
As you can see, enough space leftâŠ
So think the issues comes elsewhereâŠ
