Transcoder Bug?

Hi all
I think I might have found a bug in the transcoder. I was playing a file 4K 7.1HD Audio. Started playing and plex was transcoding video and audio. Checked settings and video playback is set to original (still transcoding)
If I play the same file but select 5.1 audio, I get Direct play (no transcoding on video or audio)
If I select 7.1HD audio again and plex transcodes both video and audio.

Try it about 10 times and only 2 times It would transcode audio but direct play video

  • please provide the xml for this movie
  • recreate the issue where it transcodes and provide the PMS log
