Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS (GNU/Linux 6.5.0-26-generic x86_64) Seeing any transcoding issues?
Updated nvidia drivers and started getting transcoding error on a few movies that have otherwise worked just fine before.
Play back error. Error is Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error.
Common theme they are 4K HDR10 (HEVC Main 10) movies. Everything else seems good.

(and yeah I know its not lacking for hardware)
Hardware transcoding device is set to Auto but it sees the GP104 Geforce GTX1070.
Ideas?
DEBUG logs which capture the playback atttempt ?
Logs are always needed for transcoding issues. There are too many variables to guess.
Chuck do you want the whole zip log file with everything? or just specific logs? I am not sure what exactly I am looking for and in what log file.
Interestingly. I optimized one of the files for TV viewing and it seems to have corrected the error for that movie. I have not done so for the others.

FYI the file works now that it was optimized. The original file was the one crashing.
This is not a VM. I am running the desk top version of Ubuntu not server.

Seems to be sorted out. Thank you Chuck.
Did those steps clear it?
Chuck, yes I can play all videos that were giving the transcoding error and not playing. Any idea why that was happening. It seemed out of the blue. The only thing I noticed was a driver update a day or so ago.

I’ve seen rare cases where driver updates don’t complete successfully.
This might be one of them.
Well, seems to be corrected. I will keep an eye on it. Thanks as always for the help. Chuck.
