Transcoder seems to be crashing

Wierd that a 6 is going in there because that setting comes from plex transcoder quality. I don’t know what is putting a 6 there. Is this a bug?

Are you familiar with mkvtoolnix-gui ?

If you can, install it.

  1. Make a copy of the original file and put it in a safe place
  2. Open MKVtoolnix-gui
  3. Drop the file into mkvtoolnix-gui
  4. Deselect the ASS subtitle track (we’re going to remove it)
  5. Now “Remux”
  6. When it’s done, rename & move (overwriting the file PMS is monitoring)
  7. In PMS , right-click and Analyze the file again (so the subtitle drops from the metadata)
  8. Now play the file.

If it’s the subtitle, it won’t fail.
If it does, copy the original file back to where it was (overwriting this test version).

we’ve just proved or disproved the subtitle is the root cause.

I removed the subtitles and it is still not playing. Same transcoder issue.

So going off the x264opts issue, I changed the transcoder quality from “Make my CPU hurt” to “Automatic” it is now setting it to 3

‘-x264opts:0’ ‘subme=3:me_range=4:rc_lookahead=10:me=hex’

I think this should be a bug, I don’t know why when using the android app, PMS puts a 6 there.

I don’t think this has to do with the movie that is being played? It seems to be something with the Transcode Quality setting.
