Up until a week ago, my Plex server was working wonderfully outside of my home network on all devices then my hard drive died and I eventually re-did the entire plex set up. Now, it works fine remotely on phones, laptops and the Samsung TV app. However, it does not work for casting to a Chromecast for HEVC files.
I am using a Nvidia Shield pro with a 5tb Western digital hard drive (like my previous HD). I have internet upload speed up to +150mb upload speed and do not have an upload or bitrate limit at the moment.
When I try to play a HEVC file over the Chromecast, it says transcoding is happening but it continuously tries to load with no success. There are no subtitles being used.
I am not the most sophisticated tech person in the world but I for the life of me cannot figure out why the transcoding and/or Chromecast fails to play.
Again, prior to my hard drive dying, I had no issues playing Plex cast to a Chromecast.
Thank you
