I’m able to play files normally as I was before, but still experience the failure after about 1 minute or so of transcode buffer if I force a transcode. Apps still work perfectly.
If it helps, the Plex Windows application did throw an error message when attempting to playback content that I forced a transcode on. It worked fine on original, but the moment I switched to any different quality that would trigger a transcode, I got this:
An unknown error occurred (4294967283)
Error code: 4294967283
I’ve ask the guys who know Windows apps to come look.
I don’t have anything here running Windows so can’t advise.
That does look like a 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFE error code (geek for “Oh HECK!” )
LOL that actually made me laugh out loud. Thanks @ChuckPa I needed that on a Monday.
I think there’s something funky going on for sure, but it seems isolated to browser and Windows desktop client – which seems like a browser wrapper application to be honest.
So weird. Ah well, I’ll keep the popcorn handy and see what we run into. Appreciate all the help on this so far!
Still seeing the same behavior. There has to be something going on with this latest version of PMS since it’s actively deciding not to use the Quadro P5000 to do the transcoding, but only from a browser (and the weird Windows app). Any insight from your Windows colleague to maybe point us in the right direction?
Transcoding from every other application, local subnets, as well as remote external work flawlessly with the Quadro doing the heavy lifting.
Any word on this? Still happening on the latest stable PMS version 1.41.6.9685 with Plex Web version 4.145.1
