Please, I’ve asked this question at least 5 times in different places and haven’t received any help.
I watch videos that use .ass subs, meaning I have to transcode them since exoplayer doesn’t properly support .ass. When I transcode, FLAC audio is automatically converted to a lossy format like AAC or MP3. Does anyone have a transcode profile for Android TV that directs it to transcode to flac? I can’t figure out how to make that work. I’ve tried copying and slightly altering peoples’ custom profiles for the Shield TV (I have FireTV, but it can direct play everything in my library so it doesn’t matter) and it loads the profile correctly, but still transcodes to mp3/aac.
I also briefly got it to direct play .ass subs with the styling even though the player doesn’t fully support it, but idr how I did that, and the profile that did it gave errors elsewhere.
To reiterate: Can someone please help me set it up so that when my server is transcoding video sent to my Fire TV, the audio for that video is transcoded to FLAC instead of AAC or MP3?
