Transcoding via GPU only works if i disable subtitles

Server Version#: 4.135.2
Player Version#: WebApp

Hello,

I am not sure if this is supposed to work as it is right now. Could not find much about it.
My setup is a qnap with a dedicated nvidia quadro P1000. I wanted to use the gpu for plex transcoding.
My transcoding settings are:
==> Transcoding quality: Highest Quality
==> Defaultbuffer for transcoding: 60
==> HDR Tone Mapping: True
==> Deactivate Video-Transcoding: false
==> Use hardware acceleration if available: True
==> use hardware accelerated Video-Encoding: True
==> Device for Hardware-Transcoding: GP107GL [Quadro P1000]
==> Max parallel Videotranscoding: Unlimited

The gpu transcoding works pretty nice. But when I select any subtitles plex is not using gpu anymore and is falling back to using cpu.

Is this normal or is there a reason why he needs to use cpu as soon as I select subtitles or is this a technical issues on my side?

Yes, burning in subtitles currently uses the CPU but that is changing soon.

Thank you so much. Sounds perfect :-). I will be waiting for the new update then.

@Dev86

Do you Have or Not Have subtitle burn-in on Nvidia in hardware ?

I am not sure if I understand the question. You mean in the nvidia driver settings?
Currently in my nas there is a quadro p1000 which I am using for transcoding.
If you mean in driver settings I have to troubleshoot how to check for that. The nvidia driver package for qnap os has no ui.
