Transferring meta data to new install of PLEX server on new machine

Server Version#:1.31.3.6868-28fc46b27
Player Version#:1.67.1.3665-771934d3

I’m trying to transfer my PLEX metadata folder from a b/u copy from just over a year ago but it’s proving quite frustrating. The usual method of copying the old Media Server folder B/U to the new Plex Media Server folder in ~Application Support doesn’t work (Server won’t launch afterwards). Assume this is because the directory of this folder has changed somewhat. I’ve tried selectively overwriting the subfolders that seem to be the same as the old copy but no joy there either. I’ve also tried installing a legacy copy of the server from early 2022. That works and I could connect to my media once again but The PLEX app complains that the server is out of date and even if it didn’t running the old software could well cause problems down the road.

I could recreate all the meta data I suppose but TBH it was such an arduous task doing it in the first place (fixing all the title errors and missing movie poster images/ CD artwork etc) that I don’t think I could bear to go through it again.

Anyone out there solved this issue in the past?
