Trouble accessing media on secondary volume

I have a folder at /plex. In it I have mounted a disk with an EXT4 file system. on that disk I have two folders “movies” and “tv”. When I try to add libraries for them, I try to browse from the root directory and I can’t see the /plex. If I manually type in /plex/movies and add the media library it will save and show up as a library, but it doesn’t show anything in the library. I’ve used thsi setup before, but I needed to reinstall the OS and now I can’t get it working again.
