I cannot get a recent addition to play on the xbox one. It works in Plex Web. Any ideas? I turned off Direct Play/Stream to get it to work to no avail.
I have updated to the latest server to be sure.
Log is attached and any help is much appreciated. Also, media info is below.
Thanks,
Philip

As an additional troubleshooting step, I dropped the TrueHD track and put in a MP4 container and the movie plays fine. . . . I do not typically have a problem with MKv’s continuing TrueHD. I wonder if there is something special about this one?
Now I have some EyeTV recordings that won’t play. They play in VLC, but not quicktime and they crash Plex. Thin it is released? I am transcoding the file now to see if that helps.
Hatcher are you able to select the second audio (5.1 AC3) stream to play? I think I’m facing the same issue as you. If TrueHD 7.1 is the audio selected it won’t play on any of my players (XBox, web, phone, tablet). However, if I select the 5.1 option it works. It should be noted that I am able to do this on web app, phone, tablet just fine. On the Plex App for Xbox it defaults to the 1st (True HD 7.1). You can change this after “playing” the movie (will have dark screen) and settings, but I don’t think it saves the change? Unless I missed something simple.
@viraldhimar I believe that to be true. I have not test tho, but I am confident it will work. I actually remixed without the 7.1 track and it plays fine. It seems like Plex should be able to handle it.
@hatcher.server Looks like the transcoder is having trouble with your TrueHD audio stream. I imagine you’re having problems playing it on other clients too? MPV can’t decode it either.

It will not play on the web client. It just spins. If I select the AC3 5.1 track, it plays fine. Now what?
@hatcher.server You’ll have to select the AC3 track when playing it on the Xbox One. Unfortunately because we don’t have track selection on the preplay page you’ll have to select that track in plex web and then load it on the Xbox One app.
Ok so does this get reported to as a bug or is it a corrupt track? I thought I was looking for an answer as to why it want working if possible. Obviously I already have a work around.
@hatcher.server Unfortunately this seems to be an issue with the audio track. I can’t find any application that can successfully decode it, so all signs point to it being the issue.
@moussa.uk I’m trying the same work around as hatcher; selecting the audio stream from plex web (5.1,AC3). Only when I play from Xbox One app, video plays fine, but there is no audio at all. If using other devices it is fine. I suppose I could remix it…
I’m having issues with another TrueHD track in another movie. I’m finding it highly unlikely that these dreams are corrupt and that Plex is not the problem. If you can’t handle the transcode of a TrueHD stream on the Xbox One, you need to implement track selection from the menu as it will not do anything except present a black screen. The lack of progress with the Xbox One client is disturbing.
