I’m trying to use the date method to order internet series; as they often don’t have official series. My goal being to have it show "season " followed by “Episode Month/day” I used the official guide on the Plex site, but it doesn’t seem to be working for me. I suspect that’s because I’m not scraping metadata from any real source. Any way to force it to use this naming scheme?
Is the show matched to the ‘Personal Media Shows’ agent or is it unmatched?
(take a look at the Plex XML info of one epsiode to find out. Look at the guid=...)
It’s unmatched. The library this is in is for internet shows. All the shows I’ve added so far - The Guid, Legend of Neil, Red Vs. Blue, were all produced in standard TV show format with seasons and episode numbers, and are on The TV DB. So they were very simple. No different than a normal TV show.
But this isn’t always the case with these shows. If I’m adding a YouTube channel - particularly one in which I may wish to remove videos from later, or add videos (for example a lot of shows that do reviews of movies or other material get taken down due to YouTube’s copyright algorithm, and then restored a couple months later; or re-uploaded with a slight edit to make them more compliant), it makes it a million times either to just use the "Season " and “episode month/day uploaded.” Makes it a million times more flexible.
Can I match a particular show using a different agent than the rest of the library? Because as I said, for the rest of the library, I’m using TVDB and they’re matching fine. But it’s hit or miss if they’re going to be on there.
Hmmm. I’ll give that a shot when I get home. Will that agent recognize - - Episode title format properly and recognize it as “10/04/2008” instead of “Episode 1004”
