Trouble with family seeing Plex collections and complete library

Hello,
I am writing to see if anyone can help me out with some issues I am having.

I am sharing an account with my family and a friend. They all live in separate places from me. They have accepted the e-mail invitation and are using the Plex app on their Apple TV and TV streaming devices. When they are on Plex they are having issues with seeing the complete catalog that I have available on my computer/tv.

For instance…my family can see recently added movies, but cannot see or access the collections or entire movie/tv show database.

Has anyone run into this issue? How have you solved it? I have checked my sharing options in settings and they have access to all of my folders and material.

I read somewhere about a family sharing plan or “home” plan where they can access the content with a pin. Does this solve the issue.

I might be able to help a little bit.

An admin who is a plex pass subscriber can create a Plex Home, and add a couple of family members, let’s say, into that Plex Home. Those people are referred to as Managed Users.

Your managed users can have 4 digit PIN or no PIN.
Your managed users are given access to specific libraries by you.
Your managed users don’t have to sign in to plex.tv nor have a plex.tv account.
Your managed users can not administer your server nor add subtitles that are missing.
Your managed users all get your plex pass benefits (hw acceleration, extras, etc).

This system of a Family Home allows a family member to pick up an iPad, start the Plex player app, and be presented with a fast user switching screen to choose their managed user name. It’s easy to switch users.

You raised an issue where an invited user can’t see some of your content. I don’t know why that would be.

I don’t think this is a Plex Home issue.
In fact, it is not recommended to add users who are not living in the same household to your Plex Home.

You might want to tell your peeps that they can add their preferred libraries of yours to their side bars. This is particularly important if they have access to more than one Plex server.
And that all libraries are available at the bottom of the side bar, under ‘More…’.
