Trouble with plexamp app and offline server

Server Version#:1.23.1.46.02
Player Version#:3.4.7

Hello,
I have a specific use in mind for my plex server and am having some trouble getting it to work correctly.

The end result: I want to be able to use the Plexamp app and an offline plex server in my vehicle like a jukebox. I’m willing to dedicated a phone and a server just to this purpose, but I want to be able to listen to any of my 8,500ish CD rips while driving off road/camping, hundreds of miles and many weeks from any sort of internet.

Current setup:
Headless Acepc Gk1 (runs on 12VDC) running win 10, 2Tb internal SSD drive, Motorola g7 smartphone (no sim card), an assortment of N300 wifi routers (netgear and TPlink) that will run on usb or 12V, an assortment of powerbanks, a Lifetime plexpass subscription.

I have been successful in setting it up and using it at home, but only when connected to the internet. I have tried following the instructions regarding “how to use plex media server without internet access” Authentication for local network access | Plex Support and tried unsuccessfully to locate all the settings found in the “Plexamp network connectivity tips” Plexamp Network Connectivity Tips | Plex Support.

After disconnecting the internet and power-cycling everything, nothing appears in the “library” tab on the plexamp app (I’ve confirmed the server is running and that everything is connected to the same network).

If the problem is the router, I would be willing to purchase whatever router will get the job done, as long as I can power it with 9VDC, 12VDC or a usb connector.

If I had a walk through, I would be also willing to switch to Ubuntu or other OS if it were possible to eliminate the router by using an ad-hoc wifi network between the phone and the acepc (I can’t get this to work with windows 10 in a headless configuration).

I acknowledge that I am in way over my head. I have spent hundreds on parts over the last year trying to make this work and am really hoping for a solution. I am grateful for any assistance.

Thanks in advance!

I don’t think there is an option in Plexamp for manual connections but you can do this with the regular Plex app but to the disadvantage of the reduced features.

What I think you need to do is whitelist the specific IP range in PMS then setup a manual connection in the Plex app on your phone.

After reading the reply, I tried the regular plex app (it didn’t occur to me to try before) and everything works using the n300 netgear router. Thank you kegbeach!

I still prefer the plexamp interface, but this will work well enough for my fathers day weekend plans.

thanks again!

There isn’t an option for manual connections, but you can sort of emulate this by publishing a custom URL via the server network settings.
