Truenas Scale Plex won't start if claim code is entered. Also cannot claim server without it

Recently upgraded from truenas core to scale. Worked great on Core. Made a backup of entire server onto backup drive for safety. Getting set up and I am totally lost over the new options and i am struggling to find helpful videos showing all the details online.

My main issue as I see it:

install plex. have all the settings reasonable but the new Bluefin os changes the settings from anything i find online. i think i have the locations all set correctly for where to have “plex storage” options all working. but sometimes it’s stuck deploying. logs show this…

So, i removed the “plex pass claim” option and it starts up. only error is
Critical: libusb_init failed

even so, plex boots but I cannot claim server

I suspect there’s more wrong with all this ( remote connection doesnt work but i suspect thats because the server isnt claimed) but I am barely able to stay afloat with all the new crap in Scale. Any and all help is appreciated <3

small update (still broken)

unchecked the plex pass button but still entered the claim code and plex runs. only log error is Critical: libusb_init failed

But I still cannot claim server…

lsbinit failing isn’t critial. it just tells us the host doesn’t have the libraries installed.

This is the root (or a main) problem. DNS isn’t working.

You can’t claim it if it can’t talk to plex.tv

ok, good note! changed it to 1.1.1.1 for the sake of simplicity and now I have a new error I cannot seem to bypass.

Error: [EINVAL] chart_release_create.appVolumeMounts.data.hostPathEnabled.hostPath: Invalid mount ‘/mnt/WD Reds/Plex Media/All Media’ path. Following service(s) use this path: SMB Share

So, i moved all my media one folder deeper (all media) so as it was’t directly in the subfolder of the primary pool where my SMB is set to and still no luck. What am i doing wrong?

Can’t help there. I don’t know/use TrueNAS.

yeah, you and me both haha. Unfortunately I cannot find much help for anything relating to their latest version os. and the GUI changed a lot so nothing is quite the same.

but I appreciate the pointers!
