Try out our new Vizio SmartCast preview

Minor bug: for albums with more than 2 discs, scrolling to the bottom of the screen allows the app to load the subsequent discs, however they no longer have the “disc #” separation, although the track numbers do reflect the disc change

Filed an issue. Thanks for the report.

When I go to Movie Settings/streams/subtitle/search for more I’m finding the subtitle i want, but am unable to do anything with it. Should I be able to download it from there?

Thanks for the report.

It looks like we already have an issue filed for that one, I believe that’s a recent regression. From what I’ve seen it still adds and selects the subtitle. You’ll see it displayed on the preplay screen, and if you exit the settings and re-open them it should show up as selected, but of course we need to fix it not displaying immediately :slightly_smiling_face:.

Feature Recommendation: Universal, client wide play/pause? Currently, audio play/pause can be toggled with the corresponding buttons on the remote only while on the now playing screen.

It’s looking like any video with DCA 5.1 audio won’t play. Just shows “buffering” for about a second and then a black screen.

That one is problematic. Traditionally (and this will be added in the future) pressing play/pause outside of the player will play the currently selected item, so we really can’t also use that for music that is playing in the background.

None of the Vizio TVs I use for testing have any playback related buttons. What buttons does your remote have? A picture (if not too much trouble) would be great. If there is a dedicated pause button, it may be possible to allow pausing audio with that when not viewing the player.

The Vizio TVs don’t support DCA by default. There is a setting Settings->Audio->DTS (DCA) that should be disabled by default, and only enabled if you have a connected external receiver that supports it. Is that setting disabled?

There is a bug we have an issue for about fixing the unhelpful black screen on failure.

Apologies, meant to update the post, but I do have a SB3651 (firmware 2.6.2.1) attached to it via HDMI-ARC.
Digital audio out is set to Auto.
On the sound bar, EQ is set to Direct and surround sound is turned on if that helps.

Yeah, that sounds like it should work.

Is it specifically 5.1 audio, or maybe just DCA in general and you’ve only tested with 5.1?

Could you enable logging on the Plex app (see below), attempt to play one of the affected videos, and then send me PMS logs (see below)?

Enable Plex app logging: You can find Settings at the bottom of the sidebar. Change SettingsAdvancedLog to media server to your PMS server.

PMS logs: On the web client click the settings button in the upper right, click Troubleshooting on the left sidebar and the select DOWNLOAD LOGS and the PM that to me.

Thanks!

Okay, PM’d
Thank you for your help by the way!

@benwa: From your logs, it looks like your getting the same error I get when I enable DTS without a DTS compatible receiver attached. What is your TV setting for Audio->Digital Audio Out? (I’m assuming your menu options are the same as the TVs I have. It’s possible it might be labeled slightly different.)

The TV’s Audio > Digital Audio Out is set to Auto

Hello again. I am on version 5.0.9 and I’ve been having an issue where when I pause a TV show too long it goes into the screensaver slideshow, but when I come back and hit play the audio plays but the screen goes and stays gray. I am then forced to hit “back” button to get back to plex main menu and relaunch the TV show and resume from where I left off for the video to work again.

Thanks for the report. We have a fix for that which will be in the next update.
