I’m totally new to plex servers and totally lost as to what terms to search for to find my answers, so please excuse me if I’m asking a stupidly simple question.
I’ve been using plex player for some time, as my brother has a server running and gave me access to view it. Now I’ve got my own server running as well (as of last night) and I’m trying to add it to my player without any luck. Ideally I’d like to be able to view both servers at the same time but I realise that is probably not possible, so I’d settle for being able to switch easily between them… But how do I get started doing this?
I’m using the player app on my android tv and on my amazon fire stick. I’ve looked at the video and gone through the page you sent (thank you for that) but I cant find anything on how to log into both servers, I can see how to organise it so there is content from both on my home page but not how to actually log in in the first place.
You don’t log into servers.
You log into your plex account.
Your own server is logged into your plex account as well, so you can access its libraries automatically.
Servers which are owned by other people are logged into the plex accounts of those people, but they can be shared with your plex account.
You then have all your own libraries and those which are shared with you accessible, at first in the side menu under MORE. You then pick and choose which of those libraries will be visible on the side bar by ‘pinning’ them.
that is exactly where I am going wrong! thank you! I knew it had to be something simple, I had set up the server with a different account. As I’ve only just set it up and dont have a lot in it I think I’ll set it up again with the same account details that I am using to access my brothers library.
