Trying to diagnose buffering issues

Hi,

My brother says he always has issues when accessing my plex library, with all videso constantly stopping and starting. They are all 1080p MKV files, and when accessing my library using my phone on 4G, I have no problems even when set to 10mb transcode.

Whilst he was trying to watch a film tonight, I could see it kept saying buffering so I went onto the pc, and cpu was never above 25%. I have 50Mbps upload so dont think its network related.

Can I post logfiles for someone to look at? Only thing I can think of is that its his network causing problems, but he says he has no problems with Netflix etc.

I not familiar with TV’s but I’m sure your logs will help diagnosing your issues. But what you could do is ask your brother to use another device… Any streaming device, even a tablet/notebook/desktopPC and see if the problem still exists.

He only has tvs that connect to my library and im sure they all have the same problem

He has Ipads so I will get him to test on that tomorrow
