Trying to direct connect via mobile hotspot

Our neighborhood is having major internet issues so I have resorted to using a Tmobile hotspo for internet. My PC (the Media server) is getting internet from this device via Wifi. My Amazon Fire TV is also getting WifI from it.

When I try to watch Plex fro the Fire TV it wants to go out to the internet (WAN), find my media server via my PlexPass then stream in back via the internet. Instead of just using the Wifi Signal internally.

Any suggestions on how to get i to take the “short” vs “long” route?

I don’t know what port the hotspot uses. Remote Access always reports back as “not available.”

I even tried to bridge my Wifi And LAN connection on the server (windows 10) and run an Ethernet cable to the Fire TV across the room. Still no dice. It’s not allowing me to share that wifi connection over ethernet.

Thanks!

Try this: Settings-Server-Network-‘Secure Connection’ <-- Disable

Afterward restart the Plex server first, then your other involved devices.

No dice. Sorry. It works sporadically.

Sorry, then I am out of ideas. Plex requires a solid local network. A wireless-only mobile hotspot may not always fulfill this requirement.
