So on current plex server if you click on a TS file to play like your dvr I receive a playback error however the same file will stream ok to thru the app.
All other file extensions will play through the server so not sure if I’m doing something wrong

what do you mean by “play through the server”? do you mean the web app in browser?
What sort of video/audio stream codecs are in the TS? If you get info on the file then in the third column will have the codec for video and audio. Can your server transcode?
Correct the web app gives you a playback error only when I try to play the dvr files or any ts file. My server is able to transcode ok and I can watch them alright on tv or phone app with no problems

it is possible to get a sample file to test with. all the ts files I have play fine. put it non google drive, dropbox or something an post a link.
