Tunefind not showing up

Hi,

just received the blog entry mentioning the new Tunefind feature. I upgraded to 1.18.2 and… nothing. I can see Extras but not the tune stuff. I cannot find a mentioning of this not working under FreeBSD. What am I doing wrong?

JP

What your doing wrong is not reading the article. It said rolling out this week not available now.

Thanks very much for your answer. But where should I have gotten this impression from? Let me cite from the BLOG:

„ This feature is now available on pretty much every platform we support, as long as you are running the latest version of our software.*“

It clearly states „is NOW available“ (not during the week) and the version mentioned is the one I just upgraded to. This led me to believe I should be able to use it. Please b all means help me understand. If you are
correct I am more than happy because I can stop looking into this and just sit back and wait.

But maybe this (as other features in the past) is only available on Linux/Windows or in a specific region. Or maybe I am missing something. In those cases I would love to know.

Odd. Two different notices maybe?

We’ve been hard at work on some pretty sweet improvements, and I wanted to share a little bit about them (okay, maybe a lot about them) and talk about another cool way to discover new music that we’re rolling out this week.

Most improvements are sweet. Thanks for working so hard on them.

So what you are saying is that this is perfectly normal and it will magically appear within the week?

I had to do a “Refresh Metadata” to see the new items. I have been doing it one artist at a time and found some odd results (i.e. some artists changed to Various Artist), other have worked fine.

It should be working now, but only for content from your own server. You might need to reload Plex Web. You are using the hosted version?

The Tunefind feature has nothing to do with your music library.

Any steps required to see it? I’m using hosted website to view and show nothing new for my content. The original message said rolling out this week but if you say now I’m wondering were it is?

I have the same query as the OP.

I don’t see it anywhere after updating to the most recent version.

Is this feature actually implemented yet?

I haven’t gone back to re-read the blog or announcement, but I certainly had the impression that this feature is available now.

Is this web only or should it also be in the clients?

@_0_0_0: The blog states “now”. My citation from above is from the blog.

Availability:
“Plex Media Server version 1.18.2 or greater required; at launch, the feature will be available on iOS, Apple TV, Android Mobile, Android TV, and the Plex web app”

I am running 1.18.2.2015 so from reading the blog it SHOULD work. Web version is 4.14.2. However I do not see it anywhere. Not on web, not on iOS clients…

It is statistically not likely that the other guys not seeing it are also running FreeBSD (please comment guys) so it then would be safe to assume this is not FreeBSD related.

Unraid here. Same web as you and newer server. Not seeing it on any clients. Web, droid or roku.

Server running on Windows 10 - Version 1.18.2.2041

Not seeing anything on iOS or Web clients.

You should be able to see it regardless of what platform your server runs on.

Things to check:

  • Restart your Plex Server and give it like 2 minutes and then try again.
  • Ensure you haven’t disabled the TIDAL provider in Online Media Sources, if you have then reenable it and restart your Plex Server for good measure.
  • Double check you have the correct client version to support it (iOS/Android: check the relevant app store, Web client use app.plex.tv/)
  • Consider that the movie/episode you’re viewing may not have an entry in Tunefind (you can check their website) or the entry in Tunefind may not yet be confirmed as correct.
  • Consider that the Tunefind matches may not be available in TIDAL, most titles are but there could be the odd titles that don’t exist on TIDAL.
  • Ensure you’re logged in as the admin of the server you’re viewing (we don’t currently support this feature as a shared/managed user).

Checked all. I do not subscribe to tidal but it is activated as online source. Restarted several times. App.plex.tv and TestFlight iOS versions. Checked on Tunefind and the movie is listed with tracks.

In Plex? Nothing.

Are there some specific titles I can test on my end that you’re having issues with?

You can also grab your logs for me so I can see if something may be going wrong ( Reporting issues with Plex Media Server | Plex Support)

Rebooted. Still nothing here. Tidal does not seem to fill in my libraries. Is this for subscribes only?

New tubefind options also missing.

You don’t need a TIDAL subscription for Tunefind to work in movie and TV libraries.

If you can provide more info I can try and help. Which server version are you using? Which client and version are you using? Have you checked that TIDAL is enabled in Online Media Sources? Can you give an example of a movie or episode which is not working for you.

@drzoidberg33: I believe in my case I stated nearly all infos like Server and client versions. It is not working for a single TV or Movie (and I tried quite a few). I also checked to see if the movie in question has an entry on Tunefind which it does. What else can I provide?
