I have verizon and want to keep my tv package but want to give them back their crappy equipment. I wanted to purchase a tv turner that will work with my current tv provider. Was looking into getting one that uses a cable card. Any recommendations on a good tv tuner I can use. I am looking for idealy an external device since my plex server is set up on a 2U rack mounted dell poweredge server.

The Prime is hard to find. The new version is not out and no indication as to when it will be. I use the InfiniTV 4 PCIe. I have had it for years and has been a great tuner. They have external tuners as well as 6 tuner versions as well. I use it with Plex Live TV but requires you to use the Ceton Proxy application to make it look like a HD Homerun tuner for Plex. The tuner card is my Unraid NAS and I run a Windows 10 VM that runs the drivers for the tuner card and proxy.
