HDHomeRun Prime for Plex Live TV DVR CableCard required?

I’m a newbie to HDHomerun. Looking to get a cheap used HDHomerun Prime (HDHR3-CC) for Plex Live TV DVR. I don’t have any cable service nor intend to get one. This thing called CableCard… do I even need this? All I need is tuner for Plex Live TV DVR. Thank in advance.

That model cannot receive over the air broadcasts.

Thank you, FordGuy61. I’m a Ford Guy too. LOL. F150 that is! HDHomeRun Flex Duo capable?

Plex documentation says all Silicon Dust tuners are supported (linked below).

Silicon Dust says the Flex Duo supports OTA TV (linked below).

Looks like you’re good to go.

FYI, regarding their 4K (ATSC 3.0) models: Plex currently supports ATSC 1.0 broadcasts. ATSC 3.0 broadcasts use AC4 audio, which is not currently supported by Plex. If you record an ATSC 3.0 broadcast it will have video, but no audio.

There’s one in my driveway. :pickup_truck:
