Hey guys, I’m on vacation and was trying to get my server to play for family. I went to the web app on my mobile and clicked secure connection not required and it turned off my server. Can I fix this without being home? I’m not longer getting server options.
Why do you think it turned it off?
I dont think unchecking that would have shut your server down. More likly your plex media server software has an issue or something else happened.
I have done the exact same thing when i was troubleshooting a fam client while at thier house with no ill effects.
It should not have shut down the server, but player apps by default will not connect to servers insecurely especially when remote. So disabling it on server could cause the app to not allow connection to it any more.
Like the preferences in mobile apps to “allow fallback to insecure” which I think is set to never by default. The web app should have a link (the one given above) under server name to try insecurely but if he was on his phone web browser it might have been formatted oddly on a small screen and easily missed.
Ofcourse it could have been something else.
