Remote access is half secure

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2457

Starting today I seem to have an issue where if I try to access my PMS via a web browser it will flag it as an insecure secure and I have to allow it to run on an insecure connection before I can view any of my media. However, if I access it via the app on my Samsung Galaxy S10 it connects with no issue.

I haven’t changed anything with my network locally and I’m not aware of anything that my ISP might have done. I’m just trying to figure out why only some ways of access are secure but some are insecure. If you need more info let me know and I can get it.

have you restarted your server lately? What is secure connections set to in Network settings?

It’s been about 2 days since the last restart.

I have the secured connection set to Preferred.

Well I would try another restart. Looking at your account plex.tv shows it as disabled. you would need to go to http://IP:32400/web or http://app.plex.tv/desktop?secure=0 to access insecurely on the same machine as server

for some reason it is it not sending the correct setting to plex.tv maybe try disabling and reenabling remote access and/or the secure connections setting

I can give the server a restart shortly.

What do you mean it shows as disabled?

When I access it at home I’m doing the IP:32400/web but remotely I’ve always done the plex.tv option and just switched to the http and got to things. I did have a coworker try from their computer and the same thing. Does the Android app automatically switch between insecure and secure connections?

I mean you said it was set to Preferred. However when the info about your server is sent to Plex.tv it shows it is disabled. That is why it is saying it cannot connect securely when using https. If Plex tv shows it as disabled then it wont assign a certificate for your server
