Hey I am pretty new to this and wanted to fix some quality of life things on my media server.
I think it has to do with the metadata but I am also not completely sure what that is.
Basically I want the actors to show up for both movies and TV shows but they don’t. If I go to a movie and click the actors name, only the movies that the actors was in will show up. I want it to be an entire list of all the filmography that that particular actor has done.
If that didn’t make sense here is an example of what I am trying to do.
Steve Carell is in The Office . Steve Carell is also in The 40-year-old virgin . When I want to watch The Office I click on it under TV shows and when I scroll down to see the actors list I see the complete list of all the actors present. If I click on Steve Carell, it only shows his appearances in TV shows, it doesn’t show any movie appearances.
Yep Plex currently can’t do that.
I’m fairly sure there is a feature request somewhere for that exact feature.
The only current way to do what you want is by using the search feature in your client.
Not ideal but if your client supports voice commands it does work well.
