I am coming to you as I have searched and searched for a solution to this problem and I can’t seem to locate it. I’m probably typing it in wrong but if anyone can help I would appreciate it. My drive crashed and took Plex along with it. Luckily, I had my media on separate drives. I am now attempting to rebuild everything but I am stuck with this problem. I am finding TV episodes showing up in my movie folder. Yet, there is no sign of them when I use file explorer to go in and check the physical folder. Plus its not every TV series just 5-10 of them. Could anyone help? I am attaching a screen shot for your review. Thank you so very much in advance.
Inspect the plex media info. It should tell you where this file should be stored.
In general, tv show episodes would never appear in a movie library and vice versa, unless they’re named wrong.
If you find that there is a big disconnect between the library properties and the files which show in it, check the health of your plex database :
- activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
- quit Plex Server
- wait 1 minute
- start Plex Server
- wait 5 minutes
- fetch log files and attach them here
Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.
Thank you. I will give it a try!
