Movies showing up as episodes of "Home Movies"

All right, this is weird.

So my Plex server keeps filing movies twice, but not in the movie section…it decides that they’re episodes of the tv show “Home Movies” and files them as such.

So, for example, I had the 2005 BBC adaptation of the Quatermass Xperiment in my movies folder, and there it was in Plex’s movies…and also in TV as episode 19 of Home Movies or something like that. If I delete it from TV, the movie goes too. Updating metadata does nothing, and since it’s something that shouldn’t be there at all, I can’t just edit the description.

Deleted that movie and downloaded the new Charlie’s Angels. Did the same exact thing. I do realize this is a relatively minor and insignificant issue, but my need for organization is majorly triggered. Anybody have any ideas how I can keep this from happening?

  1. The path of your movie library directories by editing the movie library and what folders are added. Do the same for the TV library is it appearing in.

I have the same problem as ckmoak. If I delete the file that is in the TV folder, it’ll delete the movie too. I’m trying to do what bigwheel says to do but the pic is a little small to read. Please help. I think it’s OCD in me that needs my folders reading correctly lol.

Actually I just figured it out. For the tv shows folder, looks like I didn’t have a folder selected. Which is weird because the folder was updating. Anyways, I re-selected what folder the TV shows would go to and it’s showing up right. If that makes any sense lol.
